Im so glad to be back painting with the girls again, it gets me painting in overtime. This fan painting will be the subject matter for this week, one of the fans my husband brought home from the last trip to Hong Kong I had painted it previously in the painting with many of my collection but i'll let them off easy by only painting one, I had to make up the persimmons, they are not in season, so I am hoping I might be able to find some at the market tonight or we will have to use something else.

After not painting for a while I wanted to challange myself. So I painted this transparent plate on a floral fabric with sparkling egg yolks. It WAS quite the challenge. I will exhibit it this weekend at the MMAS show on the South Common in Mansfield, MA along with my full sheet painting of pool balls entitled Rack'em Up.

The Gallery at Patriot Place got a beautiful article in both the Foxboro Reporter and The Sun Chronicle this week. Here I am working on my Chinese Fans painting. We had a very succesful weekend, what a joy to be part of all this.

Sunday, July 24, 2011

"My Fans" I think I am still working on this watercolor. Painted this weekend at the Patriot Place Gallery in Foxboro. A collection of fans collected for me by friends and my husbands last trip to Hong Kong. I had the idea in my head for a long time but it was harder to collect the fans than to paint them. This was a really fun weekend painting with Vera Cross, Martha Marson and and Robin Wessman. All very beautiful painters.
