This weeks painting class still life was a borrowed Rosewood (?) vase from my friend Joanne.  I took in two exhibits this week and am so inspired to try new things.  Im thinking we will be working on an abstract for our final class, maybe it will excite the girls to paint more on their own after class ends in two weeks.  Anything to inspire!

Here are a few of the very nice and talented Board members at the Helen Bumpus Gallery last Thursday hanging my show.  Everything looks great, the show can be viewed now but my reception witll be Saturday Nov. 23 from 2-4.  Twenty three pieces most of which are new.....please come if you can!

"Asparagus on Toile" watercolor on Arches 140 lb. Since I had the asparagus out I couldnt resist painting my favorite scarf in yet another painting.

Here is a commission painting I did for the parents of a just married young couple commemorating their first date.  Very sweet, I even got to see the video of them opening there gift, what an honor.

Watercolor on Arches 140,  "Septembers Bounty". I'm so taken with the cabbage this year, I'm gonna attempt one more painting of them before they are all gone, I picked this beauty up at the local farm and the beautiful yellow cauliflower too.

My outdoor booth at the Country Gardens Artisian show yesterday.  What a beautiful day, we had a great crowd, I sold my pepper painting and lots of prints, all in all it was a great day for me.

Talking with Frank Quinn and Daydre Hamilton at the Next Door Gallery opening this past Saturday night.  The show will be up till the last week in November, I have a rare landscape hanging on those walls.

"Collections"  a large and very challenging subject I have been working on for some time is finally done.

"Cherries,Paisley and Lace"  Rain rain go away, although it got me in the mood to paint this intricate piece yesterday.  Inspired by the bowl one of my students gave me as she was getting ready to downsize.  The cherries in the market looked so good (and tasted good) and my favorite table scarf made for a nice little still life.  Watercolor on Arches 140 lb measures 16 x 20 matted.

"Game Time"  completed this painting Saturday while gallery sitting at Patriot Place.  I might tweak it a little later this week, while painting it I was not happy with it but worked through for a successful painting.  And the Red Sox beat the Yankees so Yaaaaaa!
Dropping off today at the North Shore Art Association hoping I get in, I've not been turned down so far.

This is where I will be  today...The Gallery at Patriot Place, I'm thinking I will paint a baseball picture today, maybe give the Red Sox a little luck .

"Making Sauce" watercolor on Arches 140.  Painted this yesterday while gallery sitting at The Gallery at Patriot Place.  Lots of foot traffic, I was so busy greeting people I'm surprised I was able to complete this.

Fellow watercolor artist Donna Kenny Kirwan and myself in NYC taking in the American Watercolor Society Show.  Donna was an old neighbor in Rumford RI and was the first person to inspire me and encourage me to try watercolor.  We promised each other the next time we went to the show it would be to see our own work.  She had a piece in 3 years ago!  I am so proud of her!

Yesterdays painting was of the prettiest peppers I ever did see in the market,  perfectly placed in my moms old vintage aluminum colander. Watercolor  on Arches  cold pressed 16 x 20.  SOLD

This weeks class....all of the paintings came out super great!  it all makes me so happy.  I'm working on a whole sheet of totally complicated glass and so I am really enjoying class with these quick daily projects.

"Five Pears and a Pineapple"  Watercolor on Arches 140.  I first treated the basket with gum arabic and am sorry I did.  I wanted to be able to lift the lights out but it made it too hard for the washes to stick while glazing later on.  The pineapple comes from the name of the quilt which I made probably 15 years ago.  Easily the most difficult one I ever made.  I hope to try another quilt painting at some point, this is my second one.

DUXBURY – When the Duxbury Community Garden Club presents its Blooms at the Complex March 23-24, at the Art Complex Museum, spring will most definitely be in the air.
Members of the club carefully select an exciting range of paintings in a variety of media exhibited in the Duxbury Art Association Annual Winter Juried Show. They then interpret the artwork with their individual floral designs. The event is free and open to the public, free of charge from 1 to 4 p.m. For details see www.artcomplex.org.

So interesting that the group had selected this piece to interpret, it is the second time one of my works has been selected.

Watercolor on Illustration board.  "It's A Ball"  This paper was interesting, the same paper I used to paint the grass in snow.  Color stays mostly on top and is imposible to lift out completly.  I found it hard not to make mud!

Watercolor on Illustration board.  Im pretty excited about this one, the new surface was fun to work on, it worked up really fast.  I painted it from a photo I took while at the cottage in KPT Maine after a beautiful snowfall.

Well, finally I can load a photo!!!!!!!!!Have not been able to for a week now.  Busy painting in the studio but no new paintings to post, reworked this one a little when I felt I needed to loosen up.  I will be posting new pieces in a day or two.
